Why Vale Raw

Real food.Real results.

Raw feeding isn't a trend, it's the most natural food a dog can eat. We've been producing raw the right way: locally sourced, single-source proteins, no fillers, no shortcuts. Because what goes into your dog's body matters more than anything else.

Ratios That Actually Matter

The 80/10/10 split isn't a marketing number, it's the gold standard of biologically appropriate raw feeding. Muscle meat provides protein, bone provides calcium, offal provides essential vitamins.

“6 months in — dog is unrecognisable”

Rex is a 3-year-old German Shepherd. Since switching to the beef 80/10/10, his muscle definition has improved dramatically, coat is glossy, and digestion is perfect. I was sceptical about raw before this. Not anymore.

“Loose stools — gone in two weeks”

Bruno had been on various commercial foods for 4 years with constant digestive issues. Two weeks on Vale raw lamb and the problem has completely resolved. I wish I'd done this sooner.

“Rotates through 4 proteins — loves them all”

Poppy gets duck, beef, chicken, and rabbit in weekly rotation. She's energetic, lean, and her Cocker Spaniel coat has never been silkier. The fact it's made locally and humanely sourced matters to me too.

“Transitioned my reactive dog without issue”

Ellie has a chicken intolerance. The single-protein options meant I could transition her off commercial food entirely and immediately identify which proteins work. The boneless mince was perfect for starting out.

Raw Feeding Questions

Everything You Need to Know

Defrost in the fridge overnight (or in a sealed container in cold water for faster defrosting). Once defrosted, use within 24 hours. Always wash hands, bowls, and surfaces after handling raw meat.

The general guideline is 2–3% of your dog's ideal body weight per day for an adult dog. A 20kg dog would eat approximately 400–600g daily. Puppies require proportionally more (up to 5–8% body weight depending on age). Use our feeding calculator on the collection page for a personalised recommendation.

Yes, raw food is suitable from weaning (approximately 4–6 weeks). We recommend the boneless mince range for puppies and younger dogs as softer texture aids digestion and eliminates small bone risk during early development.

A good starting rotation for variety and nutritional balance: beef, chicken, lamb, and either duck or turkey. For dogs with sensitivities, begin with a single protein for 6–8 weeks before introducing a second. Venison, pheasant, salmon, and wild rabbit are excellent novel proteins for dogs with established intolerances.
